During the summer, these bodies of water become a playground for swimming, boating, paddling, and fishing. You'll find numerous campgrounds by the water, hiking trails to visit viewpoints of the massive lakes, and the best company at community businesses that welcome you to eat, drink, and have fun here.

Fall here is for roadtripping, cozy moments, and outdoor markets. It's for color-popping landscapes that can be enjoyed via hiking trail, scenic drive, or even a float plane. The Experience Our Adirondacks region welcomes in people to see what small town charm means, with hospitality that's unmatched and culture that runs deep. 

Winter is wide-ranging in Hamilton County. Strap on your skis or board and go take on the downhill slopes or cross-country ski paths. Take your snowshoes and see what a fire tower looks like in the winter. Visit small towns and go ice skating and tubing, making sure to grab a cup of hot cocoa and some good winter eats along the way.

This museum encompasses all that is the Adirondack Park. From carefully-curated exhibits on the cultural history of the Park, to artifacts that exemplify the area's past. Check out the extensive collection of watercraft and horse-drawn carriages, climb the on-site fire tower, and take in the view of the lake from the dining deck.

Great Camp Sagamore is a preserved National Historic Landmark that offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the Gilded Age history and wilderness of the Adirondacks. Visitors can choose to stay for several days through multi-day programs focusing on history, arts, or outdoor recreation, or simply visit for a few hours to take guided history tours and hikes. As a non-profit dedicated to preservation and lifelong learning, Sagamore is a vital cultural destination nestled on Sagamore Lake.

Oak Mountain Ski Center is a family-friendly destination in the Southern Adirondacks, offering multiple seasons of affordable adventure just an easy drive from major metropolitan areas. The mountain features 22 trails for all skill levels, a 650-foot vertical drop, and a dedicated terrain park, plus a four-lane snow tubing hill and miles of snowshoeing trails in winter. Guests can enjoy mountain biking in the warmer months, and dine at the Acorn Pub & Eatery located right in the base lodge.

Lapland Lake Adirondack XC Ski & Vacation Center is a year-round destination celebrated for its rustic Adirondack charm and commitment to the outdoors, conveniently located in the southern portion of the park. In winter, it operates a renowned Cross-Country Ski Center with extensive groomed trails, a food service, and gear rentals, along with opportunities for snowshoeing. During the summer and fall, visitors enjoy a variety of activities centered around its lake and private rustic cabin lodging, making it a perfect spot for peaceful, nature-focused getaways.
