The Adirondack Park is within a day's drive for over 60 million people, with nearby major cities including Montreal, New York City, Boston, Syracuse, and Philadelphia. Luckily, major interstate roadways include I-87 and I-81, act as easy corridors of travel from just about anywhere. And while the Adirondack Park is wild, there are over a dozen designated Scenic Byways that bring you to and from the most stunning terrain this space has to offer.

The Adirondacks can be reached by plane via flying into the Adirondack Regional Airport at Lake Clear via Boston and NYC (also serves private aircraft). Two other airports just north of the Adirondack Park, Ogdensburg International and Plattsburgh International, are good options to fly into because of their proximity to the Park. Additional options include flying into Burlington International Airport in Vermont (just across Lake Champlain) or Albany International Airport in New York (just south of the Adirondack Park). Once you're here, you can even take scenic flights!

For an area filled with mountain towns, the Adirondacks has great access to public transportation. Amtrak and its Adirondack train line are not only scenic, but convenient. From Penn Station in NYC, the train travels through the Hudson Valley, up and through various eastern Adirondack towns like Ticonderoga and Essex, then ends in Montreal.

To access the interior of the Adirondacks, Essex County and Clinton County offer cheap bus routes. Adirondack Trailways and Greyhound Bus also serve a selection of Adirondack towns.
