Unique events are kind of our jam

Center your summer adventures around the delights of summer events that are both hot (as in, super awesome) and cool (think: way better than what your friends are doing). Sure, you want to go swimming in cool, mountain stream-fed lakes and hike to stunning summits, but you also want to savor fireworks, live music, Adirondack traditions, farm-to-table fair food (yes, it's a thing!), and the uniqueness that is a summer event in the 'dacks.

Plus: we do July 4 really, really well, no matter what region or town you visit!

History + Parties = A Crackerjack Summer

Sure, the lake shines its brightest in summer, but what really gives the Lake Champlain Region its sparkle and fizz are the events! Celebrate July 4 and America 250 with events at historic sites like Fort Ticonderoga and Crown Point, or lean hard into nostalgia with a true classic: the annual Essex County Fair in August. Also in August, Champ Day celebrates our beloved lake monster with family-friendly fun.

Ride, Dance, Eat!

If this sounds like the perfect summer combo, then plan your trip to the Whiteface Region, where summer events combine all of these fun activities! Whether you want to spectate IRONMAN or get on your own bike for the beloved Ride for the River, this is the summer of cycling. Elsewhere this summer, groove at the Wilmington Mountain Music Fest and explore Jay Day, a celebration that includes the flavorful pie contest.

Vintage Summer Vibes

Where else could you blend square dancing, antiquing, and...soccer? Yup, you read that right! Head to the Adirondack Hub's charming small towns for the third annual Brimfield Antique Show in North Hudson for vintage finds, the shores of Schroon Lake for all-ages-welcome square dancing (seriously, it's so fun!), a FIFA festival to celebrate World Cup, rustic farmers' markets, and a folk festival!

Here Be Monsters

But they're the friendly kind of monsters! This summer, Tupper Lake is the place for a fairy tale adventure, with TROLLS: Save The Humans at The Wild Center. Add to the festive fun with the Summer Sunset Series with live music overlooking the lake, food trucks, scenic train rides, and more, all in a town that might be small, but it's big on Adirondack hospitality and one-of-a-kind activities.

Ready, Set, Vacation!

Is this the summer you do all of the things? Like getting your foodie fix on, cheering on world-class athletes, and celebrating the awesomeness of creativity, all in a truly cool mountain town? Yes, it is that summer. Visit Lake Placid to cheer the competitors of the IRONMAN triathlon and Summit Lacrosse, groove to Songs at Mirror Lake, savor flavors at the Feast of the Peaks food and music festival, and take kids of all ages to the Adirondack Family Book Festival for imaginative adventure.

Decidedly Eventful

Saranac Lake is a friendly small town filled to the brim with a great mix of outdoor adventures, inspiration, and artistic excitement, with a lot of live music! Third Thursday Art Walks feature sidewalk shopping and musicians, Northern Current music festival fills Riverside Park with music to groove to, and the Waterhole's Party on the Patio is a much-loved summer must. In between, catch Can/Am Rugby matches and the Willard Hanmer Guideboat Race!

"Bear"y Lively Small Towns

The Experience Our Adirondacks region (an entire county!) is pretty special: small towns are snuggled into the really, really big outdoors and we wouldn't have it any other way. From the Bear and Wine Fest in Speculator and live Music on the Mountain on a ski slope to Arts in the Park in Inlet and and the Indian Lake Poker Paddle, events here combine the great outdoors and charming towns in a beary relaxed, beary fun way.
