These self-guided food and drink trails invite visitors to explore the Adirondacks with their appetites in mind and learn more about Adirondack Harvest. Adirondack Lakes Cuisine Trail

  • Vibe: A mix of rustic tradition and vibrant downtown culinary scenes.

Spanning the regions of Saranac Lake, Lake Clear, and Tupper Lake, this trail is known for its rich history, with legacy farms, Great Camp dining experiences, and downtown eateries that have called the Adirondacks home for generations. You’ll spot some new faces as well, in the form of vibrant breweries and restaurants serving fusion flare.

Ausable Valley Cuisine Trail

  • Vibe: A hub for outdoor recreation enthusiasts, art lovers, and those seeking the tranquility of the forest.

Follow this historic travel corridor through Saranac Lake and Tupper Lake, and take a paddle on the wild side with the St. Regis Canoe Area. This trail is a hub for adventurers, with the St. Regis Canoe Area being the only wilderness canoe region in New York State. Naturally, the eateries and hangouts that line this place are maintained with recreation enthusiasts in mind, and blend perfectly with the tranquility of the forest. Beyond the waters and trails, dairy farms can be found here offering up high-quality meats and cheeses, fresh maple syrup comes on tap, and breweries thrive in the valleys just beyond the High Peaks (with stunning views to boot).

Champlain Valley Cuisine Trail

  • Vibe: Focused on fresh produce, historic gardens, inventive craft beverages, and breathtaking lake vistas. 

Iconic and historic, this region is home to some of America’s greatest landmarks, and hugs one of the most beautiful waters in the United States, Lake Champlain! The Champlain valley offers up a bountiful harvest every year, and a stunning drive along the Adirondack coast gives way to dairy farms, road-side farmstands, co-ops, and working Revolutionary forts maintaining the same farming practices from over 200 years ago.

North Country Cuisine Trail

  • Vibe: A discovery of unparalleled flavors and a glimpse into the specific lifestyle unique to the northernmost coast.

Wind through the Adirondack Coast’s picturesque roads and quaint villages to find these hidden gems. This trail is primed with extraordinary local products, most hailing from local farms and orchards. Farmstores are king here, serving up fresh produce, local crafts and artwork, and of course, warm apple pies and pastries baked that morning. Pro-tip: This region is breathtaking in fall, with foliage hugging sprawling orchards, and most roads offer a scenic view of the lake!

Bouquet Valley Cuisine Trail

  • Vibe: An agricultural powerhouse featuring fertile land, CSA farms, and a high concentration of wineries and breweries.

Follow the Boquet River (the steepest river in New York) from Keeseville to Elizabethtown to find a treasure trove of local makers, farms, and wineries bursting onto the agricultural scene. It’s here you’ll find the state’s largest collection of “new” farmers, blending traditional Adirondack farming techniques with innovative production methods. The trail includes stops to wineries, breweries, vegetable, livestock and CSA farms, and extraordinary eateries, stocked with local flavor. This is the perfect trail to start filling up that charcuterie board.

Champ’s Cuisine Trail

Vibe: A playful, coastal-influenced trail where the bounty of the land meets the mystery of the lake.

Named after “Champ,” Lake Champlain’s legendary lake monster, Champ’s Cuisine Trail connects mysterious local legends with the bounty of the surrounding farmland! This trail offers ample chances to spot the legendary creature while tasting the bounty of the land. You’ll find stops including sugar houses and wineries, food co-ops, and orchards that boast views of Lake Champlain.
